SharePoint: Copilot actions in SharePoint document libraries

Microsoft 365 app: Microsoft Places – New options for desk mode configuration

Desks can now be configured for different modes, depending on the immediate needs of the Places administrator; configurations can be changed at any time. Available desk modes include: Offline (the desk cannot be booked by anyone, also default for individual desks); Assigned (individual desks can be assigned to specific users); Bookable (the desk can be booked, subject to availability/available capacity and configured policies; and Walk-up (the desk can only be booked in person and requires the user to be physically present at the desk, subject to availability/available capacity and configured policies).

Pages created in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat will open in Microsoft 365 Copilot app

Pages created in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat will open in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app starting May 2025. This change centralizes content in the Copilot app. Sensitivity labels will be available by late April 2025. No admin action is required, but user notification is recommended.

Microsoft Teams: Use OS-level animation settings instead of Teams-level animation settings

Microsoft Teams has removed its animation setting, now relying on the OS-level animation settings in Windows and macOS. This change is automatic and requires no admin action. It applies to Teams for Windows desktop, Mac desktop, and the web. Notify users and update documentation as needed.

Microsoft Outlook: New “Shared with me” page in Settings for shared email accounts and folders

Microsoft Outlook is introducing a “Shared with me” page in Settings for managing shared email accounts and folders. This feature will roll out from mid-May 2025 to early August 2025, depending on the release schedule. Users can view, add, and remove shared mailboxes and folders, enhancing permission visibility. Microsoft Teams: Streamlined unified Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) for Teams device management

Microsoft Teams is enhancing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) in the Teams Rooms Pro management portal (PMP) to support additional Entra built-in roles. The rollout will occur in May 2025 and requires no admin action. The new roles include Global Administrator, Global Reader, Teams Administrator, and Teams Device Administrator.

Dynamics 365 Contact Center – Manage routing rules in bulk

We are launching the manage routing rules in bulk feature for Dynamics 365 Contact Center. This feature grants administrators the ability to create templates for common routing rules, which can then be applied to queues and workstreams. This feature will reach general availability on April 18, 2025.
