iOS Build now included in ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rule for Outlook on iOS

Starting mid-November 2024, Outlook on iOS will support specifying iOS build numbers in ActiveSyncDeviceAccess rules. Organizations can update existing rules to use this feature, but it’s not mandatory. Review the ‘New-ActiveSyncDeviceAccessRule’ documentation for guidance.

Microsoft Teams: Shifts Graph APIs in beta moved to production (v1.0)

The Shifts Graph APIs for Microsoft Teams are moving from beta to production, enhancing stability and reliability. This transition is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 422813 and will occur from mid to late November 2024. Developers are advised to migrate to the production endpoints and update their applications.

Microsoft 365 app: Microsoft Loop – New personal Loop workspace

The Loop app now provides a personal workspace to all users, which is shared with Copilot Pages. This personal workspace is a user-owned SharePoint Embedded container, one per user. All governance, lifecycle management and compliance processes apply the same way they would to a user’s OneDrive.

Outlook for iOS to match Android Authenticator Auto Open Behavior

Outlook for iOS will update its authentication to auto-open the Authenticator app, aligning with Android’s behavior. This eliminates the need for users to manually initiate the process. The rollout starts in late November 2024 and should be complete by mid-December 2024. Organizations using Outlook for iOS are affected. No action is required from users or admins to implement this change.

Copilot agents in SharePoint rolling to Targeted Release

SharePoint is introducing Copilot agents for users with M365 Copilot licenses, allowing creation and interaction with Copilot scoped to their site. Full capabilities, including Teams chat interaction and advanced customizations, will be released later. Rollout begins late October 2024 for Targeted Release and late November 2024 for General Availability.

New Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business Call Hold Synchronization

Call hold synchronization between Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business is improving. When a call is active in one service and another call is answered in the other, the ongoing call will be placed on hold. This feature requires the new Microsoft Teams client version 24261.1100.3128.2662 or greater and will roll out worldwide from mid to late October 2024, with specific dates for GCC, GCC High, and DoD. Organizations must enable this feature by adjusting group policy registry keys.
