Microsoft Exchange Online: Optional Help file parameter in Microsoft PowerShell will change

In Exchange Online PowerShell V3.7, the Help file will not load by default, and a new parameter, `-LoadCmdletHelp`, is required to use `Get-Help`. The `-SkipLoadingCmldteHelp` parameter will remain but won’t function. These changes take effect in early November 2024 and apply only to customers upgrading to EXO module version 3.7.0.

Microsoft Project for web: Roadmap admin toggle | Microsoft Planner: New Portfolios feature

Microsoft is introducing a new Portfolios feature in Planner for Premium license holders, which includes a list of plans and a Roadmap. Admins can enable/disable this feature and the existing Roadmap in Project for the web via the Microsoft 365 admin center. Rollouts begin late October 2024, with full availability in mid-November 2024. The features are enabled by default.

Microsoft Purview AI Hub: Enhancements to Overview, Recommendations, Reports, and Policies pages

The Microsoft Purview AI Hub will soon be updated with new sections for Overview, Recommendations, Reports, and Policies, as well as an improved Activity Explorer. These changes will start rolling out in mid-October 2024 and are associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 415451. The update will be on by default with no admin action required.

Microsoft Teams: Usage reports for bookable desks in the Pro Management portal

With a Teams Shared Device license assigned to a desk pool, admins can view valuable analytics for these spaces including number of peripherals, usage, reservations, and occupancy under ‘Reports’ in the portal.

Publishing new InfoPath Forms in SharePoint Online will not be allowed for inactive tenants in this December

Starting December 2024, Microsoft will block new InfoPath Forms publication in SharePoint Online for tenants not using the service, as part of the deprecation process ending July 14, 2026. Tenants should review impact, run assessments, and consider modern alternatives like Power Apps, Power Automate, or Microsoft Forms. Existing forms will remain usable.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat: Users can create charts, graphs, and data analysis

Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat will enable chart, graph, and data analysis creation via prompts, viewable Python code, and requires a Copilot license. Rollout starts mid-November 2024, completing by late November. No admin action needed; users should be informed. Roadmap ID: 420363.

Microsoft Outlook for Mac: New reporting buttons integrated with Microsoft Defender for Office 365

In September 2024, Microsoft Outlook for Mac introduced new reporting buttons for phishing, junk, and not junk emails, controllable by admins via the Microsoft 365 Defender portal. These buttons are now available, with no changes to existing User reported settings. The update does not affect shared and delegate mailboxes and is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 371393. Users should be informed of these changes.
