Microsoft Teams: Participant roster grouping in Teams BYOD meeting rooms

Microsoft Teams will soon group BYOD meeting room participants in the roster for individual identification and meeting intelligence. This feature will be available in Teams for Windows and Mac, with a rollout starting in early October 2024 and completing by late November 2024, depending on the release stage and user domain. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Viva: Pulse admins can manage Pulse notifications

Microsoft Viva: Pulse admins will soon be able to manage notification settings, choosing delivery methods like email and Teams Chat. This feature will roll out between early October and late November 2024. It’s on by default, and admins may need to install the Viva Pulse Teams app for users.

Microsoft Teams: Users will exclusively control their voice and face data exports

Microsoft Teams is updating to allow users, not admins, to export their voice and face data for enhanced privacy. This change, part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 413709, will occur from mid to late October 2024. Users can export data via Teams settings, and no admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Teams: Custom name for Teams panels

Admins can use the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal to assign a custom name to their Teams Rooms Pro or Teams Shared Device licensed panels. This new name displays on the panel’s home screen, replacing the global address book name that appears in Outlook or Teams.

Microsoft Teams: Shared call history for call delegation on Teams phone devices

Call delegators and their delegates can now view shared call history records for the shared line directly on their Teams phone devices. This enhancement promotes greater transparency and collaboration. All delegates associated with a user will be able to monitor incoming and outgoing calls for the shared line, irrespective of their participation in the call.

Microsoft Teams: Meeting organizers can turn off copying or forwarding of live captions, transcript, and recap for meetings (Premium)

We are expanding the existing ‘Turn off copying or forwarding of meeting chat’ control for meeting organizers to include live captions, transcription, and meeting recap. With this change, meeting organizers with eligible licenses will see a control called ‘Turn off copying and forwarding of meeting chat, live captions, and transcript’ in the meeting options. When this control is enabled, meeting participants won’t be able to copy the meeting chat, live captions, live transcript, or any insights generated from intelligent meeting recap.

Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Teams: Update on new Microsoft Lists rollout

Microsoft Viva: Pulse admins can share links to Pulse templates

In mid-September 2024, Microsoft Viva Pulse admins will be able to share template links, simplifying access for users. This feature will be enabled by default, requiring no admin action prior to rollout. Organizations should inform their Pulse admins and review the impact.
