Microsoft Teams will separate event invite emails based on participant roles (Attendee, Presenter, Co-organizer). This feature will roll out in March 2025, with no admin action required. Organizers can maintain separate invites for attendees. Notify users and update documentation accordingly.

Microsoft OneNote Copilot Chat is coming to Microsoft OneNote for the web and Microsoft OneNote in Teams

Microsoft OneNote Copilot Chat will be available in OneNote for the web and OneNote in Teams starting February 2025, completing by late March 2025. It requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot license and will be enabled by default. No action is needed, but you may notify users and update documentation.

New user Connection Settings for headset microphones in the Walkie Talkie app on Microsoft Teams for Android will optimize battery life for older Bluetooth headsets by allowing them to disconnect after inactivity. Microsoft Teams admin center highlights additional security and compliance information available for apps

Microsoft Teams admin center will now display security and compliance information for apps directly on their detail pages. Admins can view data security assessments, vulnerability scans, and certification statuses. This feature will roll out from late February to mid-March 2025, requiring no action from admins.

Microsoft Defender for Office 365: Create allow entries directly in the Tenant Allow/Block List

Microsoft Defender for Office 365 will soon allow creating allow entries for domains, addresses, and URLs directly from the Tenant Allow/Block Lists page. This feature will roll out in mid-March 2025 and will not impact current entries. No admin action is required for this update.

New Outlook for Windows and Web: Outlook Newsletters

New Outlook for Windows and Web will soon feature Newsletters, allowing users to create, distribute, and track internal email newsletters. Public Preview starts mid-February 2025, with General Availability in August 2025. Access is controlled by OwaMailboxPolicy, and configuration is required to enable the feature.

60-day reminder: Deprecation of WSUS driver synchronization

If you’re using driver synchronization updates via Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), prepare for change. This service is scheduled for deprecation on April 18, 2025. For on-premises contexts, drivers will be available on the Microsoft Update catalog, but you won’t be able to import them into WSUS. You’ll need to use any of the available alternative solutions, such as Device Driver Packages, or transition to cloud-based driver services for your organization, such as Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopatch. Microsoft Viva: Viva Glint – Enhance the Comment Experience for Live Surveys

Updating the survey experience to provide ability to display the comment box on the screen when a user is providing a rating. Currently, the survey automatically progresses to the next question after the user selects a rating, without giving them an opportunity to leave a comment. With this change, the program will have the ability for the comment box will be persistently visible, encouraging users to provide more qualitative feedback alongside their rating.
