Microsoft Teams has introduced a new admin control to block external access with Teams trial-only tenants. This setting, which defaults to ‘Blocked’, aims to protect against malicious activities. Admins can review and update this setting using PowerShell commands. General availability of this feature started on August 15, 2024.
This feature will allow users utilizing the Windows Narrator screen reader tool to have messages read aloud automatically after opening the email. #newoutlookforwindows
Microsoft Teams for Education now has a new refreshed grid view, wherein you will directly be able to get to your assignments or classwork for your classes in grid view. This feature will make it easier and faster for you to get to your assignments, classwork or channels.
The Copilot for Microsoft 365 team is working on supporting 12 new languages across all M365 Copilot features: Bulgarian?, Croatian?, Estonian?, Greek?, Indonesian?, Latvian?, Lithuanian?, Romanian?, Serbian (Latin)?, Slovak?, Slovenia,? and Vietnamese. They’re also improving the handling of these language variants: Dutch (Belgium), German (Switzerland), English (UK), Spanish (Mexico), and French (Canada).
Copilot for Microsoft 365 will auto-enable installed extensions to support action workflows, allowing users to create, update, or delete records directly. This update, associated with Roadmap ID 384848, will roll out from mid-September to mid-December 2024. Organizations should manage their extension settings and inform users about this change.
The update allows adding a Stream Playlist card to the Viva Connections Dashboard, displaying videos for users to view. It’s linked with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 402190 and will be generally available worldwide from mid to late August 2024. No admin action is required for rollout.
The new Microsoft Outlook will feature a ‘Get diagnostics’ option to submit logs to Microsoft Support. Rolling out late August to late September 2024, it will be available in the Help tab and is initially off by default. Admins can enable it using Cloud Policy. No action is required before the rollout.
Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is introducing enhancements for detecting potential high-impact users, including improved accessibility and detailed reasons for detections on the Alerts page. These updates are associated with Roadmap IDs 156016 and 171720, and will roll out between late August and early September 2024. The feature is on by default and requires no action to enable.
Outlook is introducing a feature allowing users to copy meeting attendees’ responses to the clipboard. It will be available on Outlook for Windows and the web, starting mid-September 2024 for Targeted Release and mid-October 2024 for General Availability. No admin action is required for this rollout.
Starting September 2024, Microsoft Viva Engage will introduce a mute user feature, allowing admins to remove a user’s posts from various feeds and email digests. This feature is part of the Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 396168 and will be available by default. No admin action is required for the rollout.
