On the alert list page, high priority alerts will be spotlighted to help analysts prioritize the most important alerts first. Alerts are spotlighted based on predefined rules which are common across all tenants across all industries. Alert Spotlighting feature was developed to assist admins in prioritizing alerts to be triaged. Every generated alert has a risk score, a list of activities performed, tags, and triggers.
The Alert Spotlighting feature uses this information to decide whether an alert can be spotlighted. Based on a detailed study of alert triage patterns across tenants, we have developed a rule-based algorithm to spotlight alerts that would be of importance to admins, based on historical volume analysis.
Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

With the availability of the delete API (removeallaccessforuser API), it does not stop the malicious user from resending the message to the same victim. To help prevent that, a block user API will allow the admin to block the malicious user from reaching out again. To make this even more effective, we will utilize a similar feature as the allow/block list in federation to block the malicious user from the entire organization.

Microsoft Teams is enhancing the “Manage what attendees see” feature with new intuitive controls for a simpler event production and professional attendee viewing experience. This update is already available for Targeted Release and will roll out globally from late August to early September 2024. The update will apply automatically, with no admin action needed, but users should be informed and documentation updated. A test session is recommended to familiarize with the new controls.

The new Microsoft Outlook update allows users to quickly navigate to folders using the Ctrl+Y shortcut and typing the folder name. This feature is rolling out from late July to mid-September 2024 and will be on by default. No admin action is required for the rollout.
