The Microsoft Copilot Dashboard now supports Organizational Data in Microsoft 365 for tenants with the appropriate licenses. This feature is already rolled out and requires Viva Insights licenses for advanced features. Admins should review the impact, update training, and ensure data uploaded is managed correctly.

Legacy Microsoft SharePoint Invitation Manager settings have retired

The message informs that the Legacy SharePoint Invitation Manager settings have been retired, with the specific setting for guests to sign in with the invited account no longer appearing. The SharePoint Invitation Manager’s retirement doesn’t change product behavior. It recommends using the ‘Anyone’ link sharing setting and provides a link for configuring external sharing. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Viva Amplify introduces new video templates for videocentric publications. These include Starter, Training, Recap, and Message templates. Rollout begins early August 2024 for Targeted Release and mid-August 2024 for General Availability. No admin action is required for this update.

Microsoft Teams: Meeting participants can choose a breakout room from a list

Microsoft Teams will soon allow meeting participants to select their own breakout rooms. This feature will be available on Teams for Windows, Mac, and the web, and is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 121269. Rollouts will begin in late September 2024 and be completed by late November 2024. The feature will be on by default and requires no admin action prior to rollout. Organizers should inform users and update documentation as needed.

SharePoint: New Content AI Rules in SharePoint to set sensitivity labels and retention policy

We are pleased to announce the establishment of two new rules for content AI in SharePoint. These rules can be triggered by a change in column data or the addition of a file to a SharePoint library. They will enable users to apply a retention policy and a sensitivity label, as predefined in Purview, to documents that meet the specified conditions.

Microsoft 365 admin center: New self-service purchase and trial settings

The Microsoft 365 admin center will introduce new settings for Global admins to manage self-service trials and purchases, with a rollout starting mid-September 2024.
