The Delegate Onboarding feature aims to streamline the process of assigning delegate and delegate manager roles within the Viva Engage platform. By allowing users to request delegate permissions from delegators directly, the feature seeks to reduce the cognitive load and time costs associated with the current manual process, ultimately facilitating faster and more efficient delegate assignments.
With this release, existing news notifications in Viva Connections will now be available in GCC, GCCH and DoD. News notifications are delivered via Microsoft Teams in the desktop, mobile, and web environments in the following scenarios: News is published to a SharePoint team or communication site a user follows or by someone a user works closely with.
News is boosted. Someone comments on a new News post. Someone “Likes” a News post. Someone is @mentioned in a comment on a news post.
With this capability, OneDrive users can open PDF files that are protected with Microsoft Purview Information Protection sensitivity labels and read them using OneDrive mobile apps in read-only mode. Only authorized users will be able to access these PDF files.
Outlook will soon allow using the Alt key for key tips. The rollout starts mid-August 2024, completing by late August for worldwide users, and from mid-September to mid-September for GCC, GCC High, DoD. No admin action is required, but user notification is advised. Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 403109.
Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is enhanced with Microsoft Copilot for Security, offering alert summaries and detailed user activity investigations. Public Preview begins early August 2024, with General Availability in mid-November 2024. Users need Copilot for Security licenses and proper permissions to use this feature.
The Microsoft Viva Goals integration with Zapier is retiring in September 2024, affecting workflow automation. No admin action is needed, but users should be informed and documentation updated.
The Compose feature in Microsoft Edge for Business sidebar will be retired on September 5, 2024, affecting users with an Entra ID. No action is required, but informing users is suggested.
The “In development for Microsoft Intune” page has been updated with a list of upcoming features for August 2024, which will be released in the next month or later. Users are advised to inform their IT staff and update user guidance accordingly.
Outlook for iOS will soon require iOS 17 as the minimum system requirement, dropping support for iOS 16 once iOS 18 is released. Users on iOS 16 will not receive updates and may eventually lose synchronization capabilities. It’s recommended to update devices and inform users about these changes.
Microsoft SharePoint is updating News templates to be simpler and support email sharing by default. Rollout starts mid-August 2024 for Targeted Release and late August 2024 for General Availability. No admin action needed, but documentation updates may be required for users. Roadmap ID 393335.
