Microsoft Teams: Allow presenters to moderate Q&A

Microsoft Teams will soon allow organizers to assign presenters as Q&A moderators during town halls and webinars. This feature, available to all users with Microsoft Azure Active Directory IDs, will roll out from late February to early March 2025, with no admin action required for the update.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat rolling out, IT admin resources available

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat is now available for Entra account users with a Microsoft 365 subscription at no extra cost. It offers secure AI chat, pay-as-you-go agents, and IT controls. Admins need to enable agents for shared tenant data, and resources are provided to assist with deployment and user engagement.

Microsoft Graph: Graph API – New Outlook for Windows usage

New Outlook for Windows usage will be added to the Microsoft Graph API, allowing organizations to monitor the adoption and usage of the new Outlook for Windows client within their organization. This will facilitate the creation of customized reports and analytics. Metrics included in the Graph API will match those available in new Outlook for Windows usage of Microsoft 365 apps usage report in the Microsoft 365 admin center, including tenant-level count of active users who have transitioned from Outlook for Windows (classic) to the new Outlook for Windows, as well as flags indicating usage of the new or classic Outlook per user over the specified time period.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Share user risk details with other security solutions [Government customers only]

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is introducing sharing Insider Risk Management data with other Microsoft services for Government customers. When turned on, admins with the correct permissions will be able to review user risk details and alerts from Insider Risk Management within other solutions such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Communication Compliance, and Microsoft Defender.

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Outlook: Delegates can now create new categories for the account owner’s Calendar

Delegates can now create new categories on behalf of the person who granted them permissions. They can also apply said categories to the Calendar of that same person who granted them permissions. Delegates can view the list of the delegator’s Categories by visiting the Accounts > Categories page of the Settings window and selecting the delegator’s account from the dropdown. #newoutlookforwindows
