Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat: Set up “Pay-as-you-go billing” in Microsoft 365 admin center

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat will introduce pay-as-you-go billing, rolling out from late January to mid-February 2025. Admins can enable it in the Microsoft 365 admin center after setting up billing with an Azure subscription and resource group. Existing Copilot license holders remain unaffected. Instructions for setup are provided.

Microsoft Teams: Add a Loop workspace tab to standard channels

Microsoft Teams will soon allow adding a Loop workspace tab to standard channels for real-time collaboration. This feature, part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 472022, will roll out from late January to late February 2025. It will be available by default to all users with Loop enabled in Teams.

Copilot Studio – Upcoming updates to Data Loss Prevention policy enforcement

We are updating how we enforce Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies in Copilot Studio. Currently, enforcing DLP policies is a two-step process. A DLP policy must first be created in the Power Platform admin center (PPAC) for your tenant and then you must opt-in to enforce the DLP policy to copilots in your tenant using PowerShell commands, which allows three different enforcement levels:

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Endpoint Data Loss Prevention – Microsoft Purview Endpoint DLP blanket protections for unscannable file types

Purview Endpoint DLP supports a set of specific file extensions and types. For file extensions not listed in this document, customers must use the ‘File extension is’ or ‘File type is’ rule condition. However, this approach can be challenging, as it requires manually enumerate all desired file extensions. This feature will enable protection for files outside the standard Purview Endpoint DLP monitoring scope.

Microsoft Teams: Ad-hoc individual desk booking in Teams

While previously able to reserve a spot within a desk pool, now you can book an individual desk when plugging into a shared desk peripheral. In addition, IT admins can get valuable individual desk utilization data in the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal making flexible work environments better for users and IT. This feature requires a Teams Premium license.
