We are announcing the Use Copilot to analyze desktop flow runs feature for Power Automate. This feature allows users to ask questions about cloud flow and desktop flow activity, work queues, and Power Automate features. This feature will reach general availability on January 31, 2025.
Teams panels can now smartly utilize signals from Teams Rooms devices or occupancy sensors paired with panels to indicate when a room is in use (e.g. LED glow), so you’re not surprised to find an available room is actually occupied.
Insider risk management is introducing one central location for all reports including analytics and user activity reports. Additional reports will also be available that will summarize trends in alerts generated and cases created. Sample reports include alerts generated over time, alerts actioned over time, alerts and cases generated by region and department, top triggering events of alerts generated, and average time to triage alerts and cases.
The ability to filter reports will also be introduced.
Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.
Microsoft Teams will soon allow users to set preferences for opening Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files from Teams and other Microsoft 365 apps. This feature, starting with Teams for Windows desktop and classic Outlook, is expected to roll out between late February and mid-March 2025. No admin action is required.
Starting mid-January 2025, Microsoft Copilot in Edge will add page summarization and contextual queries to the Work tab in Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat. Users will need a Copilot license to access these features, which can be managed by admins using the EdgeEntraCopilotPageContext policy. Rollout completion is expected by late January 2025.
The new Microsoft Outlook for Windows will soon allow users to move emails between mailboxes and PST files. Rollout starts mid-January 2025, with full availability by late April 2025. Organizations can manage PST file support via OutlookDataFile mailbox policy. No admin action is required before rollout.

Microsoft Secure Score will update with new Microsoft Defender for Identity recommendations to better reflect security posture. Two new recommendations are being added for Entra Connect accounts, which will affect the Secure Score. Rollouts begin mid-January 2025 for Public Preview and mid-February 2025 for General Availability. No admin action is required for the update.
Microsoft Teams will soon allow sharing of Meeting recap links, accessible to organization members. Rollout begins early February 2025, with varying dates for different releases. No admin action is required, but updating documentation is advised. The feature will be available by default.
Microsoft Purview | Information Protection’s OCR capabilities will be enhanced to scan embedded images in files for sensitive content in Exchange Online, with a rollout starting mid-January 2025 for Public Preview and mid-February 2025 for General Availability. This update is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 323899.
