The “Tags” feature in Microsoft 365 apps will be retired between January 6 and January 10, 2025. Users can use the “Favorites” feature as an alternative. No admin action is needed for this change.

Microsoft 365 admin center: Enhancements to Copilot administration page

The Microsoft 365 admin center’s Copilot page will be updated with an enhanced Overview section and a new Health section. Rollout starts late January 2025 and ends by late March 2025, requiring no license or admin action prior to rollout.

Microsoft Search in Bing Deprecation

Microsoft Search in Bing will be deprecated on March 31, 2025. Users should transition to Microsoft Search via Office.com, SharePoint Online, or Microsoft365.com. Edge for Business and Windows search box will continue to support work search with some changes. An FAQ will be available mid-January at a provided link.

Microsoft Teams: Queues App to add Monitor Whisper Barge and Takeover

Authorized users will be able to enter into a monitoring session with selected agents for private coaching. They can listen to customer calls, whisper to the agents for private message, even barge into or takeover the call.

Microsoft Viva: Leaders can use Microsoft 365 Copilot in Viva Insights

Microsoft Viva Insights will soon integrate Microsoft 365 Copilot, enabling leaders to analyze organizational data and generate reports. New features include query capabilities and Copilot-driven reports. The update requires a Viva Insights premium license and will be available on various Teams platforms, with a Public Preview in December 2024 and General Availability in January 2025. No additional Copilot license is needed.

Microsoft Outlook for iOS/Android: New reporting buttons integrated with Microsoft Defender for Office 365

Outlook for iOS/Android is getting new reporting buttons, allowing users to report emails as phishing, junk, or not junk. Admins can customize these buttons and their behavior through the Microsoft 365 Defender portal. The rollout began in December 2024 and will complete by January 2025. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Teams: Enhanced captions for Teams Rooms on Windows

Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows will soon support additional languages and translation for captions, enhancing accessibility for non-English speakers. Rollout begins mid-February 2025, with completion by mid-April 2025, depending on the sector. Admins can configure default settings, including turning on captions and filtering profanity.
