Users within DoD will now be able to use the Approvals app within Microsoft Teams.
To enhance your experience in Outlook, we’re introducing changes to how shared mailboxes and folders are displayed. Shared mailboxes and shared folders will now appear directly in your account list in the folder pane, alongside your primary account and other connected accounts. This improvement makes navigation more intuitive by treating shared resources as separate accounts, providing quick and organized access. As part of this update, we are removing the “Shared With” node from the folder pane. All shared resources will now be integrated directly into the accounts list for a cleaner and more consistent navigation experience. This update streamlines how shared resources are managed and accessed, helping you stay productive and focused. #newoutlookforwindows
Microsoft Forms now supports data syncing with Excel desktop, allowing users to update response data and create new forms linked to Excel workbooks. This feature is rolling out from mid-November 2024 to mid-February 2025 and requires no admin action. Users without the latest Excel can use Excel for the web.
Microsoft Teams now allows forwarding of app cards across chats, excluding bot cards. This feature is part of the Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 469506 and will be available in Public Preview in early January 2025, with full rollout by early February 2025. Users need the latest Teams build to use this feature.
Microsoft Viva Engage is introducing a Community Expert feature, allowing experts to endorse answers and be recognized with a special label. Community admins assign these roles, which include abilities like marking the best answer. The rollout begins in January 2025 and requires no admin action.
The Power Apps card for Viva Connections enables integration of power cards and applications onto the dashboard for easy access. It’s linked with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 464999 and will be generally available in early to mid-December 2024. No admin action is required for the rollout.
The Microsoft 365 app on Windows added settings to pin the app to the taskbar and launch it with a Copilot hardware key.
