Viva Pulse is expanding its content library with 4 new templates and 53 questions, focusing on team priorities, efficiency, meeting effectiveness, and organizational progress. Rollout starts late June 2024, with completion by early July. Tenant admins should review and manage these additions as needed.

Microsoft SharePoint: Collaborate on SharePoint Pages and News with coauthoring

SharePoint is introducing coauthoring for Pages and News, allowing multiple authors to edit simultaneously with real-time changes. It’s associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 124853, starting late June 2024 for Targeted Release and early August 2024 for General Availability. No admin action is required for the rollout.

Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management: Adaptive Protection in GCC, GCCH, DoD

Adaptive Protection integration with Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention will be available for government clouds (GCC, GCC High, DoD) starting early July 2024. This allows admins to manage policies based on insider risk levels, such as preventing high-risk users from printing sensitive data. Microsoft Teams: Customize order of webinar presenters on event page

Microsoft Teams is introducing a feature allowing webinar organizers to reorder presenters on the event page by dragging and dropping names. This update is for Teams on Desktop and Mac and will be rolled out from early to late July 2024. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Viva Insights: Hybrid workplace report

The new Microsoft Viva Insights Hybrid workplace report provides leaders with insights into the work experiences of hybrid, remote, and onsite employees. It is accessible in the Insights Teams app or web app for those with the necessary subscription and roles. Rollout begins mid-June 2024 for Targeted Release and mid-July 2024 for General Availability. Organizations should review the impact and update documentation accordingly.

Outlook for Windows display name change

Starting July 2024, the Outlook for Windows app name will change to “Outlook (classic)” to distinguish it from the new Outlook. This will be reflected in version 2407 and higher. The change aligns with support documentation and does not affect the app’s status or support. No action is required from administrators. Rollout will begin late July 2024 and complete by January 2025 across different channels.

Plan for Change: Intune moving to support iOS/iPadOS 16 and higher later this year

Microsoft Intune will require iOS/iPadOS 16 and higher after the release of iOS/iPadOS 18 later this year. Organizations should check Intune reporting to identify affected devices and users, and review Apple documentation for supported models. Userless devices have specific support changes. Plan for Change: Intune moving to support macOS 13 and higher later this year

Intune will support macOS 13 and higher later this year, coinciding with the release of macOS 15 Sequoia. Devices on macOS 12.x or below will remain enrolled but won’t be able to enroll new devices. Organizations should prepare by upgrading devices to a supported OS version.
