Microsoft Teams: Extensibility for PSTN calls

Microsoft Teams will soon allow third-party developers to enhance PSTN calls with contextual information. This feature, available on Teams for Windows and Mac, is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 468280 and will roll out from mid-January to late February 2025. It requires no preparation unless developing personal scope Tab apps for Teams.

Microsoft Viva: Updates to the admin experience

Microsoft Viva’s admin experience is being updated with a new landing page and Feature Access Management interface in the Microsoft 365 admin center, rolling out from December 2024 to February 2025. These updates will provide easier navigation and direct management of feature access settings.

Image input support in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot

Starting in late-December, Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot users signed in with an Entra account will be able to upload images in both Work and Web copilot and ask Copilot questions about the image, such as for Copilot to analyze or describe it. Users will be able to take pictures using their mobile cameras or upload images directly to Copilot from their devices. Microsoft Teams: Users can automatically install and update the Network Device Interface (NDI) (Windows only)

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Users will no longer need to manually install and update the Network Device Interface (NDI). After this rollout, users will be able to turn on automatic installation and updates in Teams Settings. This improvement applies exclusively to Teams for Windows desktops.

Microsoft SharePoint: Filter search results by “Messages”

The same Messages search vertical at microsoft365.com will soon be available for organization-wide search in Microsoft SharePoint. Search verticals are tabs on the search result page that show results of a specific type or from select sources. For example, the Files vertical shows results classified as files and makes it easy for users who are looking to find documents.

Microsoft Teams: Resize Teams windows

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Users will be able to reduce the main Teams window, the chat window, and the meeting stage to 360px wide or 502px wide, compared to the current minimum supported dimensions of 720px wide, with no loss of functionality. We will bring this change to the rest of Teams when we release in General Availability.

Also, users can adjust the width of Teams side panels as desired.
