Microsoft Copilot is now available for B2B members in MTOs, with a new Teams policy for IT admin control. Rollout begins mid-December 2024, with completion by late December. The policy is enabled by default but can be disabled in the Teams Admin Center.

A new Microsoft Copilot usage report will be added to the Microsoft 365 admin center in mid-November 2024, providing insights into active usage and enterprise data protection. This report includes user activity metrics and trends, and will be available by default with no required admin action.

New automatic footers will be added to emails sent from Microsoft Viva Amplify and SharePoint when sharing SharePoint News posts. These footers will include the customer logo, a Microsoft-generated statement, and a privacy statement link. Rollout begins early November 2024 and completes by mid-November. No admin action is required before the rollout. Organizations should update configurations and inform internal communicators.

Starting February 3rd, 2025, Microsoft will mandate multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all Microsoft 365 admin center users to enhance cybersecurity. Users and global admins must set up MFA, verify methods, or apply to postpone the enforcement date. Details and setup guides are provided.

Auto-labeling for Microsoft Azure Storage and Azure SQL will be available in Microsoft Purview | Information Protection. It allows automatic labeling of assets based on defined conditions. Public Preview begins mid-November 2024, with General Availability starting late March 2025. Admins can configure new policies, and some existing capabilities will be discontinued. Preparation requires no admin action before rollout.

All Android-based Microsoft Teams devices including Teams phone devices, non-touch phones, Teams displays and Teams Panels will use IC3 tokens instead of legacy Skype tokens for authentication. Admins can enable ‘Block Legacy Authentication’ to update their authentication tokens when available.
