Microsoft 365 Copilot: Updated handling of entity inserts in the Copilot Chat input box

Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Chat will update entity inserts from Add Work Content so entity names no longer appear as text in the input box, enabling cleaner prompts. This change rolls out worldwide from mid to late February 2026, is enabled by default, and requires no admin action.

SharePoint Designer 2013 will reach end of support on July 14, 2026, with no extensions offered. Organizations must migrate workflows to supported tools like Power Automate using the SharePoint Migration Tool before this date, as Microsoft will stop providing updates or fixes after retirement.

Outlook for Windows report retirement in the Exchange admin center

The Outlook for Windows Usage Report in the Exchange admin center will be retired between mid-April and mid-May 2026. Admins must use the Microsoft 365 admin center for Outlook usage insights. No impact on Outlook functionality; no admin action needed, but update related documentation.

Teams on the web – Browser Update Required by May 15, 2026

Starting May 15, 2026, Microsoft Teams on the web will require browsers compliant with ECMAScript 2022. Unsupported browsers will show reminders until then, after which access will be blocked. Desktop and mobile clients are unaffected. Organizations should update browsers and inform users to ensure compliance.

Microsoft Purview: Insider Risk Management – Ability to preview content in Insider Risk Management Alerts

Insider Risk Management is excited to announce the ability to preview content directly within an IRM alert without having to create a case. Users with appropriate permissions will be able to preview relevant files referenced directly within activity explorer in each alert.

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Microsoft Teams: Sensitivity label inheritance for meeting recordings

Meeting recordings now automatically inherit the meeting’s sensitivity label. When label inheritance is enabled in sensitivity label policies, a labeled meeting applies the same label to its MP4 recording, ensuring access controls, data handling rules, and Copilot or agent responses based on transcripts consistently respect the meeting’s sensitivity end to end.
