Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management is introducing granular trigger throttling limits in a public preview by late May 2024, with general availability in late December 2024. This update aims to prevent policy interference from high trigger volumes, setting daily limits for sensitive and other triggers, and enhancing policy health warning messages. No preparation is needed from users.

Microsoft Copilot for Outlook, featuring graph-grounded chat, will begin rolling out to tenants with the necessary licenses in late April 2024, with completion expected by mid-May 2024. This update will enable enterprise graph grounding by default, adhering to existing search policies and access permissions. Users can interact with Copilot via an icon in Outlook, with no admin action required for the rollout.

The Microsoft Intune Service Update for April 2024 includes new changes and features. Microsoft Viva’s Copilot Dashboard now shows tenant-level metrics without a minimum group size requirement and user-level metrics with a reduced minimum group size threshold, which can be configured by the Viva Insights administrator. These changes are available now and affect data visualization and privacy settings.

New indicators in Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management will soon detect communication risks by using Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance policy matches, aiding in the differentiation of risky behaviors. Public Preview begins mid-May 2024, with General Availability starting early June 2024. Organizations can enable these indicators in Insider Risk Management settings.

Microsoft Defender for Office 365 has introduced a new feature called Take action wizard in Threat Explorer, allowing execution of multiple response actions simultaneously. This enhancement aids in efficient threat remediation, supporting actions like email purging, inline submissions, and Tenant level block actions for up to 100 messages. Rollout began in mid-April 2024 and will complete by late June 2024. Users need the Search and Purge role to perform email purge actions.

Outlook for iOS and Android will prioritize standalone Word, Excel, or PowerPoint apps for opening documents over the Microsoft 365 app, starting early June 2024. Organizations should adjust app management policies and inform users about this update.
