Microsoft Teams is introducing CAPTCHA verification for anonymous participants, rolling out in early to mid-October 2024. This feature, which is off by default, can be enabled by Tenant Admins in the Teams Admin Center to provide additional security.
Microsoft Defender for Identity will soon add new recommendations to Microsoft Secure Score, automatically updating scores to better reflect security posture. Public Preview and General Availability rollouts will begin mid-September 2024. Organizations should review Microsoft Secure Score improvement actions to prepare.
The Microsoft Copilot Dashboard, integrated with Viva Pulse, helps measure the impact of Microsoft Copilot in Microsoft 365. It provides insights for AI readiness, adoption, and ROI measurement. The dashboard will allow launching and viewing of Pulse surveys, which will be available worldwide in early to mid-September 2024. Admins need to ensure necessary licenses and access are in place.
An improved search experience is coming to OneDrive for the web, enabling users to find files more efficiently with new filters and a clickable location column. Rollout starts late September 2024, completing by late October 2024, and requires no admin action.
Starting on August 30, 2024, the public preview for the mask sensitive data with column-level security feature will be available in public (commercial) clouds.
The new theme creation experience in the SharePoint Brand center allows easy creation and management of themes for SharePoint and Viva Connections sites. Rolling out starts in early September 2024, with general availability by mid-October 2024. Organizations can standardize colors and themes, enhancing customization. Preparation requires enabling the SharePoint Brand center.
Microsoft is updating SharePoint Brand center to allow easy creation and management of themes for sites and experiences. This rollout starts early September 2024 for Targeted Release and mid-September 2024 for General Availability. Users must enable the Brand center in the Microsoft 365 Admin center to use this feature.
Microsoft Viva introduces custom fonts for Viva Connections Desktop via the SharePoint brand center, now in Preview and soon GA. Custom fonts will be available after admin enables the brand center, allowing brand managers to upload and manage brand assets. Rollout begins April 2024, with GA expected by mid-October 2024. Microsoft provides 8 default font packages. Custom fonts will be on by default and supported in various text elements. No admin action required before rollout.
Microsoft is introducing a new SharePoint Brand center to manage organizational branding across sites and pages. It centralizes brand asset management, enabling brand consistency. The rollout began in April 2024, with general availability expected by mid-October 2024. Global administrators must activate the Brand center app in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
