SharePoint Online: New heading level options for web parts

SharePoint Online will soon allow authors to choose heading levels for titles in web parts to define information hierarchy. The default heading font sizes in the Text web part will also change. This will roll out in early April 2024 for Targeted Release and mid-April 2024 for General Availability. Authors can set their own heading level, and existing pages and news posts will have the new default heading font sizes. No admin action is required for this automatic rollout. It is recommended to notify SharePoint authors and update relevant documentation.

Out-of-band updates to address a Windows Server domain controller issue

Microsoft has identified an issue that affects Windows Server domain controllers (DCs), and has expedited a resolution that can be applied to affected devices. Out-of-band (OOB) updates have been released for some versions of Windows today, March 22, 2024, to addresses this issue related to a memory leak in the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS). This occurs when on-premises and cloud-based Active Directory domain controllers service Kerberos authentication requests.

Outlook: Folder tags on items in Search Folders in the new Outlook for Windows and web

Search Folders will now display a folder tag within the message list, indicating the folder to which each email belongs. This enhancement provides users with quick and easy access to contextual information, improving navigation and organization within their mailbox. #newoutlookforwindows

Microsoft Teams: Teams meeting recordings will be saved to meeting organizer’s OneDrive for Business

With this change Teams meeting recordings will be saved to the meeting organizer’s OneDrive for Business instead of to the OneDrive for Business folder of the person who initiated the recording. This improves the compliance of recordings as meeting organizers can then manage access permissions and recording file management.

With this update, Insider Risk Management extends its risk-detection capabilities to Microsoft Fabric products by offering ready-to-use risk indicators based on user activities in Power BI. Organizations can use these new indicators in data theft and data leaks policies. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Communication Compliance Security Copilot – Contextual Summarization

Communication Compliance introduces the Security Copilot feature to generate contextual summaries of long messages in the context of the conditions that flagged the messages as potentially risky. Investigators can pinpoint the potentially risky content in the message and understand the premise of the entire message with just one click of a button. In addition to contextual summaries, users can ask additional questions in an open text prompt for deeper insight on the message content.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Adaptive Protection and Conditional Access

Organizations can use insider risk levels in their Conditional Access policies. This includes minor experience changes in the Adaptive Protection tab in Insider Risk Management, including adding total counts for Conditional Access policies that use Adaptive Protection and new user insights in the user activity timeline when a user is added or removed from an insider risk level. Today “Deleting of SharePoint files” and “Deleting of SharePoint folders” indicators include permanent file or folder deletion event operations FileDeleted and FolderDeleted respectively. With this update, these indicators also capture files/folders moved to recycle bin which includes FileRecycled, FolderRecycled. You will see more activities being captured by these indicators.
