Copilot for Microsoft 365: Direct connection to Microsoft SharePoint organization asset libraries

Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 now supports direct searches and downloads from SharePoint organization asset libraries for brand-approved content. Rollout starts mid-August 2024, with completion by early September 2024. Tenant admins must prepare by identifying brand content and using a new cmdlet for library consent.

Soon in Viva Amplify, you will be able to copy a publication within an existing campaign with just a few clicks. This new feature streamlines the content creation process, enabling communicators to easily reuse existing content across SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams, including all channel-specific customizations and related audiences, saving you time and effort.

Viva Learning – Copilot Academy Nudges to all Copilot SKU users (Seeded and Premium Viva Learning Users)

All Users having Copilot SKU (Viva Learning Seeded and Premium) will be nudged about Copilot Academy through a notification on Teams. Users will also get a monthly recurring notification in Teams about Copilot Academy.

Rewrite in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge introduced a new feature, Rewrite, which aids in editing text. It’s enabled by default with commercial data protection for eligible users. No action is needed, but policies are available to manage this feature’s allowance or restriction. Apologies were made for any confusion caused by its rollout.

Microsoft 365 Backup is now generally available

Microsoft 365 Backup will soon be available, enabling quick restoration of OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange Online data after cyberattacks. It’s accessible in the Microsoft admin center, requires a Microsoft Azure subscription, and will roll out from July 31st to mid-August 2024. No admin action is needed for the rollout.

Classic Microsoft Outlook for Windows: New reporting buttons integrated with Microsoft Defender for Office 365

Starting August 2024, classic Microsoft Outlook for Windows will integrate new reporting buttons to allow users to report emails as phishing, junk, or not junk. Admins can customize these buttons and reporting options via the Microsoft 365 Defender portal. Rollout will be complete by late September 2024.

Microsoft 365 admin center: Admins can no longer receive user passwords in email as of August 30, 2024

Starting August 30, 2024, the ‘Send password in email’ feature will be retired from the Microsoft 365 admin center. Admins should use the ‘Print’ option to securely share user account details. No action is required from admins for this change.
