Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows will soon support joining third-party meetings via SIP, including services like Google Meet and Zoom. Microsoft Intune will stop supporting User Enrollment with Company Portal for iOS/iPadOS after the release of iOS/iPadOS 18. Existing devices remain unaffected, but new enrollments won’t be supported. Alternatives like account driven User Enrollment or web-based device enrollment are recommended.
Automatic updates for Teams Rooms on Android and Teams Phones will occur between July 10 and August 15, 2024, due to the retirement of CNS Service API support. Devices need to update to specific versions to avoid disruptions. Updates will be scheduled outside normal business hours and will not adhere to the configured maintenance window. Administrators do not need to prepare as updates are automatic.
Microsoft Teams is introducing new administrative units (AUs) to facilitate delegation of administration to specific subsets of users, enhancing management flexibility. This update, part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 402186, will be available between August and September 2024. Global admins must set up AUs in the Microsoft Entra portal.
You will no longer need to reference certain types of organizational data for Copilot to generate contextually relevant content. People and chats will still need to be referenced explicitly.
Previously, when a user asked Copilot to make changes to their table data, Copilot would make the changes directly. Now, Copilot will respond with a description of the planned changes, along with a button to “Apply”. Users can choose to refine before applying. This provides more user awareness and control over Copilot’s changes.
Draft with Copilot will include information from Bing search, resulting in content that’s as current as what you would find when searching with Bing on the web.
