Outlook: Junk/Phishing reporting actions integrated with Microsoft Defender in classic Outlook for Windows

The appearance and behavior of Report Phishing/Report Junk actions in classic Outlook for Windows can be controlled by admins using User Reported Settings in security.microsoft.com. Admins will be able to control whether these Report actions appear in Outlook, where these messages get reported to, and whether the user is prompted when they report phishing or junk. Admins will also be able to customize text and other aspects of the dialogs that appear before and after users’ report phishing or junk.

Outlook: Teams chat from email messages in the new Outlook for Windows

This will allow users to start a Teams chat directly from an email message with the sender or all of the recipients in the email, the Teams chat opens in Outlook – so users can chat and continue their workflow in Outlook. #newoutlookforwindows

Microsoft Teams: Access Workflows from the three-dot menu on shared file

Microsoft Teams will soon bring Workflows powered by Microsoft Power Automate to the three-dot menu for files shared in Teams chat or channels. Users will be able to select the three-dot menu on files shared in Teams chat or channels, and then choose Workflows to configure and run workflows for files. The feature will only be available in the New Teams client on the desktop and on the web. No action is needed from users to prepare for this rollout.

Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management: Improvements to SharePoint files/folders deletion indicators

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management will soon improve indicators for “Deleting of SharePoint files/folders” to include files/folders moved to the recycle bin. No action is required, but organizations may want to adjust indicator thresholds. Access the solution in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. Rollout begins early April 2024.

eDiscovery – Graph API for purge enhancements to include Exchange items and expand purge limit from 10 to 100

Microsoft Graph eDiscovery premium API will expand to support items stored in Microsoft Exchange, including emails and calendar invitations. The limit for each purge action per unique location will expand from 10 to 100 items per location. This feature will improve the consistency and scope of the purge action for scenarios such as data spillage or malicious content remediation. Admins responsible for Teams and Exchange purge should review the updated documentation and existing processes, validate the behavior of the eDiscovery premium purge API, and make any related updates to internal organization process and documentation.

Teams Mobile: New citations for Copilot in Teams responses in meetings and calls

Copilot responses in Microsoft Teams Mobile meetings and calls will include a citation number for easy access to the content source. The rollout will begin mid-April 2024 and no admin action is required. Improved user experience and productivity is expected.

OneDrive: Media node in OneDrive for web

OneDrive for web will have a Media node added to the left navigation, allowing commercial customers to view photo and video content stored in their OneDrive in a single view. This will be available worldwide in April 2024, and end-users will be able to perform actions on the media content in this view. No action is required to prepare, but updating user training and notifying end-users may be beneficial.

Microsoft Copilot in Windows starts to roll out to more Windows 11 and 10 devices

Starting today, Copilot in Windows (in preview)* begins to roll out to more Windows 11 and Windows 10 devices. In addition, starting this week, people can access up to 10 Copilot requests in Windows before signing in with a Microsoft account or Microsoft Entra ID. After reaching this limit, it will be necessary to sign in to continue using Copilot.
