Microsoft Teams is enhancing Copilot’s ability to understand and respond to time-related queries, providing more accurate answers for terms like “yesterday” or “last month.” This feature requires a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and will roll out in July 2024, with no admin action needed.
Microsoft Teams will soon allow viewing of file attachments from Outlook meeting invitations directly in the Teams calendar for Desktop and Mac. This feature, associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 91163, will roll out in July 2024 with no admin action required.
Starting July 13, Security Admins will have expanded authority within Microsoft Copilot for Security to control access to Microsoft 365 Customer Data, with no immediate action required from them. Organizations can opt-out anytime in the owner settings.
Microsoft Teams is introducing new Graph APIs for webinar management, including creation, updating, publishing, cancellation, and attendee registration. Public Beta is expected by late June 2024, with General Availability rolling out in early July 2024. Organizations can manage webinars programmatically, with no admin action required for the rollout.
The new Microsoft Outlook update introduces search filters such as All, Mail, Files, Teams, and People. The rollout for Targeted Release begins mid-July 2024 and for General Availability, mid-August 2024. No admin action is required for this automatic update. Users may need to be informed.
Microsoft Viva Insights will soon allow leaders to delegate access to their Copilot Dashboard to designated individuals within their company. This feature will enable delegates to view insights and make informed decisions, without seeing the leader’s personal insights. It will be available on various platforms and is associated with Roadmap ID 398976. Rollout begins late June 2024. Admins can manage access with policies, and the feature is enabled by default. Organizations should prepare by reviewing the impact and updating documentation accordingly.
The Microsoft 365 admin center’s Copilot for Microsoft 365 Usage report will update its “Users on an eligible update channel” metric logic to reflect the number of users on an eligible update channel more accurately. The update, rolling out mid to late June 2024, will likely decrease the metric’s reported number and requires no admin action.
Outlook for Android is introducing a search feature within Settings, rolling out in July 2024. This update, which requires no admin action, allows users to easily find settings and will be available by default. Organizations not using Android can disregard this update. The same Microsoft Copilot experience you can get in the Microsoft Teams app, at copilot.microsoft.com (work mode) and in other places is now available from within Microsoft Outlook for Mac. You can find the Copilot app in the left app bar.
You will now see message result suggestions when formulating a query. You can also narrow down search results to “messages” helping you quickly find Teams message content most relevant for you.
