When viewing multiple calendars in month view, users will be able to select “split view” to see those calendars displayed side by side. This feature will be available in new Outlook for Windows and web. #newoutlookforwindows
Office 365 connectors will be retired from SharePoint Online Webparts due to limited use. New connections cannot be created after June 15, 2024, and existing connections cannot be updated or managed after August 1, 2024. Organizations should update training and documentation accordingly.
The new Microsoft Viva feature allows organizations to add a OneDrive Files Card to the Viva Connections dashboard, showing recently accessed, shared, or favorite files. It will roll out in May 2024 and requires no action for setup.
Microsoft 365 is reducing support for Natural Language-Based Search in favor of keyword-based searches, starting early July 2024. Affected products include Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Search on Bing and office.com. Users can use search filters to aid the transition.
Microsoft is updating Copilot notifications to clarify its use without transcription, ensuring data is not saved post-meeting. A customizable Privacy Policy link will be added, directing to an internal or default Microsoft Privacy Policy. Rollout begins late May 2024, completion by early June 2024. Organizations can prepare by setting a custom Privacy Policy URL.
The Microsoft Copilot Dashboard will be available to all Copilot for Microsoft 365 customers without extra cost or a Viva Insights license. It will be accessible via the Viva Insights app in Teams or the web app, with advanced features requiring a Viva Insights license. Rollout begins in July 2024. Microsoft 365 admins can manage user access, and organizations with less than 10 licenses will have limited dashboard views.
Licensed Microsoft Viva Pulse users will soon be able to access Viva Pulse directly from the Viva Connections dashboard. Admins need to add a Viva Pulse card to the dashboard. Rollout starts early June 2024, with full availability by late June 2024. No admin action required before rollout.
Starting May 16, 2024, Microsoft will require add-in developers to prompt users for device permissions on Edge and Chrome for the web versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. A Device Permission API will be available to facilitate this change. No admin action is required before the rollout.
The ability to export data from the retired calendar board view in Microsoft Outlook will be discontinued on June 15, 2024. Users should export their data before this date to prevent data loss.
Admins and corporate communicators will be able to see any leaders who were added or removed in Viva Engage, as well as any audiences and removed from a leader in Viva Engage.
