Update to supported languages in Teams Meeting Copilot

Teams Meeting Copilot now supports 16 new languages, making a total of 27 supported languages. Unsupported language responses have been removed to avoid misuse. Rollout begins mid-May 2024, completing by late May. Organizations should prepare by informing users of the supported languages.

New search folders supported in new Outlook for Windows and web

New Outlook for Windows and web introduces two search folders: ‘Categorized Mail’ and ‘Mail from Specific People,’ to improve search functionality. Rollout starts mid-June 2024, completing early July 2024. Users must manually create these folders to use the new features. Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365: Relevance Tuning for Graph connectors

Microsoft is introducing Relevance Tuning for Graph connectors in Microsoft Search and Copilot for Microsoft 365, allowing admins to assign importance weights to properties of Graph connections for more relevant search results. General Availability is expected from early to late May 2024. Admins may need to adjust property weights and consult data source owners for optimal relevance ranking. Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365: Use Draft with Copilot in Microsoft Word based on text, list, or table selections

Microsoft 365 introduces Copilot for Word, allowing users to generate new content by selecting text, lists, or tables. The feature will roll out from late April 2024 to early August 2024, requiring no admin action for the update. For more details, users can visit the provided support link.

Sway: Changes in Video/Audio upload for new content

Starting early June 2024, Sway authors can no longer upload new video and audio files but must embed them instead. Previously uploaded media will still work. Users should familiarize themselves with the embedding feature to prepare for this change.

Microsoft Teams: Easier discoverability of Workflows templates

In Microsoft Teams, Workflow cards in chats or channels will now show the template used, with a rollout starting in June 2024 and completing in November 2024. A footer link will be added for direct template access, except for certain custom or non-Teams connector workflows.

Microsoft Teams: File Image preview in chats and channels

When you share documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF) in chat or channel conversation, you can see a thumbnail image of the file in the thread. This lets you preview the file’s content without opening it and find the file you need quickly.

OneDrive: Change to shared folder experience in OneDrive

We’re making a change to the shared folder experience in OneDrive. Currently, when a user opens a shared folder in OneDrive, they are taken to a view of that folder within the sharers OneDrive. In the new experience, opening a shared folder will take the user to the shared folder within the People view of their own OneDrive. This view, organized by people, shows and allows access to all the files and folders that have been shared with the user.

Microsoft Teams: Rename general channel

In our efforts to bridge the gaps between general and other channels, introducing the ability to rename the general channel in your team. General channel in a team can be renamed by the team owner, or member (if they have permissions), to show up in the teams and channels list in alphabetical order.
