Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention is introducing a new ‘send email notification’ remediation action and customizable email templates. These enhancements, available in Public Preview in late May 2024 and General Availability in late June 2024, allow for dynamic and efficient incident communication, with an audit trail for actions taken. The Microsoft Intune In Development page for May 2024 has been updated with a list of upcoming features to aid in readiness and planning. Changes will appear in the next month or a subsequent release. IT staff should be informed to update user guidance accordingly.
Microsoft Viva introduces regional announcements for frontline workers, allowing managers to send targeted messages based on location, job code, and department. Rollout begins early May 2024 and ends early June 2024. Organizations should set up Hierarchy and DTAS on Teams and enable Regional filtering in Viva Connections.
Microsoft Teams’ Approvals Graph APIs are now in public preview, allowing developers to create and manage approvals programmatically within the Approvals app. This feature is linked to Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 393926 and will be generally available from early to mid-June 2024 with no admin action required.
The Microsoft Copilot app will soon be available in new Outlook for Windows and the web, with the rollout starting early May 2024 and completing by mid-May 2024. This feature will be enabled by default for users with a Copilot license. No admin action is required before the rollout.
The Microsoft 365 admin center will soon introduce a preview of Organizational messages, allowing creation and delivery of communications within Microsoft products. When updating meeting attendees, organizers will be prompted with an option to send updates only to added or removed attendees or send updates to all attendees. This feature will be available in the new Outlook for Windows and web #newoutlookforwindows
When a conversation in Mail is part of a meeting, the Reading Pane will have a new and improved Meeting Details card for a more efficient and modern RSVP flow. This will come to Outlook on the Web and the New Outlook for Windows. #newoutlookforwindows
Engage admins will have the ability to change users’ access to view only mode. In view only mode, users can access and view content in Engage, but cannot comment, react, or create new posts.
