Outlook: New search folder types

Search folders are being moved to the Settings experience in the new Outlook for Windows and web, improving discoverability and alignment with modern organization workflows. In addition, we are expanding supported search folder types, including mail with attachments, old mail, and large mail and more. Users will also gain the ability to filter search folders by specific folders, providing more precise control over how email is organized and surfaced. #newoutlookforwindows

Microsoft Edge: Navigation management for Progress Web Apps

Microsoft Edge has improved how a Progressive Web App (PWA) handles user navigation. When a user clicks a link, the browser will determine whether it should launch the installed PWA or open a new browser tab to give users a more seamless experience.

Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Simplifying Content in the Input Box

When users insert content in a prompt using ‘Add Work Content’ under the Plus menu, the content will only appear as a pill in the Input Box UI and will not be repeated as part of the user’s prompt. This helps to simplify the Input Box and reserve it for prompt creation.

Outlook mobile: Users can open and send Outlook File Template (OFT) files

Outlook mobile will support opening and sending OFT files as draft messages, enabling template reuse. This feature rolls out globally from early February to early March 2026, is enabled by default, affects all mobile Outlook users, and requires no action to prepare.

Automatic synchronization with device time zone, no client restart required

Microsoft Teams will automatically sync with device time zone changes without needing a client restart, starting early February 2026. This applies to Teams desktop (Windows, Mac) and web clients, requires no admin action, and shows the active time zone in Teams settings.

Microsoft Viva Glint: Copilot will default to ON and move to VFAM as the single control

Viva Glint will default Copilot to ON and remove its internal toggles, using Viva Feature Access Management (VFAM) as the sole control for Copilot access starting March 2026. Admins must manage access via VFAM; users see Copilot by default if they have Glint permissions. No M365 Copilot license is needed.
