This report provides insights into overall connector activity, publisher-level trends, and connector powered response patterns over time, along with detailed user-level connectors adoption data. Microsoft Custom engine agents: Introducing file upload support

Custom engine agents will support file uploads from local storage or OneDrive starting November 2025, allowing agents to access files briefly and respond to queries. This feature, enabled by default, applies to all users and matches Copilot’s supported file types, with image support coming later.

Microsoft PowerPoint: “Reuse Slides” feature will retire starting 2026

Starting January 2026, PowerPoint will retire the “Reuse Slides” feature on Windows and Mac desktops, removing it from the ribbon with no option to re-enable. Users should update documentation and consider alternative slide reuse methods. No compliance issues are noted.

Microsoft Defender for Identity: Activate the Unified Sensor now generally available

Microsoft Defender for Identity’s Unified Sensor is now generally available, enabling identity protections on qualifying domain controllers via the existing Defender for Endpoint agent without extra installation. Updated SharePoint document library user experience

Microsoft Defender for Identity: New recommendation added to Microsoft Secure Score

Microsoft Secure Score will add a new improvement action from Microsoft Defender for Identity to prompt password changes for accounts with potentially leaked credentials. Rolling out November to December 2025, it requires no admin action and appears only if Defender for Identity sensors are deployed.

Microsoft Authenticator app: Upcoming changes to jailbreak and root detection

Starting February 2026, Microsoft Authenticator will block Entra credentials on jailbroken/rooted iOS and Android devices through a phased rollout: warning, blocking, then wiping credentials. This security feature requires no admin setup. Users on compliant devices remain unaffected. Organizations should notify users and update documentation accordingly.

Policy-based removal of pre-installed Microsoft Store apps

You’re now more in control of provisioned Microsoft Store apps than ever. Starting this month, you can remove select in-box apps using straightforward policy on Windows 11 Enterprise or Windows 11 Education, version 25H2. The new policy, called Remove default Microsoft Store packages from the system, is disabled by default.
