Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention- Enriched Data Loss Prevention Alert Email Notifications for DLP Admins

There is now increased information in the alert email notification sent to the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) admin upon a DLP policy match. Previously a DLP alert email only included the user activity and the type of sensitive information matched in the alert. Now, DLP admins will get additional context such as alert ID, policy details, device details, and more. This will help admins quickly assess the priority of an alert and determine the next steps before navigating to the Microsoft Purview DLP alerts page or Microsoft 365 Defender DLP alerts page.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Ending the Microsoft Purview legacy alerts ingestion into Microsoft 365 Defender portal

To increase the relevance of DLP alerts and incidents in Microsoft 365 Defender portal, we are ending the flow of the following legacy alerts into Microsoft 365 Defender portal: eDiscovery Search started or exported, successful exact data match upload, retention auto-labeling policy simulation completed, unusual volume of DLP policy matches, failed exact data match upload, MIP autolabel simulation completed, unusual volume of external file sharing, unusual volume of file deletion. These alerts were created as a result of legacy standalone alert policies. For a better experience, we recommend using the alerting toggle in the DLP policy authoring experience.

Organizers can select up to six languages for attendees to choose from for live translated captions during a town hall

Currently in a town hall, an organizer is unable to select which auto-translated captions they would like their attendees to see. Attendees can select from a pre-selected list of translated languages for their captions. With this new update, organizers can now pick up to 6 translated languages from a list of over 40 languages to be shown to the attendees for captions during a town hall.

Sensitivity Labels enabled in Teams Mobile Meetings

Users can collaborate in a way that meets compliance standards in meetings on a mobile device by picking sensitivity labels on Teams calendar. Users will see any default label if applied by the admin. When clicking on the Sensitivity label field in the meeting creation form, users will also see the list of specific labels allotted to them by the admin and choose the relevant label. According to the settings of the label, the meeting will become labeled and the content will be considered sensitive accordingly.

Channel meetings inherit the label that is used in Teams by default and cannot be changed.

Keep your Microsoft Teams desktop client compliant by updating regularly

Since Microsoft Teams is governed by the Modern Lifecycle Policy, the Teams desktop client needs to be up to date. Users who are on old versions of Classic Teams app will receive in-app notifications to encourage them to update to the latest version of Teams. This is to ensure that users have the latest capabilities, performance enhancements, security features, and service reliability.

Note: This in-app notification will not apply to users on machine wide (non-persistent setup) Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployments. Admins will need to regularly update those users to remain supported on Teams.
