End of Support for Cortana on Microsoft Teams Room on Windows and Teams Displays (Lenovo ThinkSmart View)

We are making some changes to Microsoft Teams Room on Windows (MTR-W) and Teams Displays that will impact Cortana voice assistance. Come end of September 2023, we will no longer support Cortana voice assistance, both push-to-talk capability and wakeword detection, on all MTR-W devices and Teams Displays, specifically Lenovo ThinkSmart View.

We know that this change may affect some of the ways you work on Teams devices, so we want to help you transition smoothly. We are excited to keep innovating and using AI to help you work smarter and faster. We are working towards new ways to use AI to save time and focus on what matters most to you.

New SharePoint site theme options

We are adding two new SharePoint themes to our Change the Look menu. The addition of Black and Cerulean will enhance your site customization options by providing additional theme colors for the base of your sites.

Microsoft Purview eDiscovery (Premium): Identify, add and preserve Teams channels as non-custodial data locations

Coming soon to Public Preview in eDiscovery (Premium) is the capability to pick relevant Teams channels (standard, private, and shared) as non-custodial data locations. This will intelligently identify associated custodian/group mailboxes and SharePoint sites related to the channel.

REMINDER: Upcoming Changes to Customization Controls in Viva Pulse In-App Experience

Currently, there are two customization controls in the Viva Pulse In-App Admin Experience. The ‘Stock Questions’ control allows employees to edit stock questions. The ‘New questions’ control allows employees to create their own questions. In the upcoming release, we will be merging the two controls into one customization control.

This one control, when turned ON, will allow employees to edit stock questions and add their own questions in the Pulse survey. All customization capabilities will be turned ON when this control is ON, and all customization capabilities will be turned OFF when this control is OFF.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Ability to fetch the original file resulting in policy match as evidence | customer managed storage

In the alerts triage & incident management experience, the admin can access a copy of the file that was restricted by DLP. The original file is uploaded to a customer managed storage (Azure blob). The admin uses this data to analyze the contents to confirm the full set of data that was exfiltrated to assess severity.
