Agent Mode is releasing to Copilot in Excel on Windows and Mac enabling users to build and edit workbooks with Copilot using multi-step workflows. Eligible licenses can now select which model to use, including both Open AI and Anthropic models.

Its primary job is to help discover sensitive data across your data estate. This agent is designed to analyze and search documents, emails, and messages that match the natural-language discovery intent requested by the user and assess associated risks. By moving beyond traditional keyword and information-type analysis and harnessing the power of LLMs, this agent enables organizations to identify risks based on the actual purpose and context of the content and take appropriate action.
Use the new =COPILOT function directly in Excel formulas to generate, classify, and summarize text and data.
This update brings end user security reporting into Teams Admin Center. Admins can now view and download signals from messages users report as a security concern or not a security concern within TAC Protection reports, helping them identify trends and fine tune policies and responses.
Microsoft 365 Copilot app will show Chat in navigation for users blocked by admin policy but restrict access with a notice; ineligible users won’t see Chat and get a pop-up if accessing directly. Rollout starts late January 2026, no admin action required.
Express voice enrollment in Microsoft Teams enables quick voice profile registration for enhanced meeting features. It rolls out to enterprise tenants (excluding EDU) starting February 2026, is on by default, and can be managed by admins via PowerShell. Organizations should review policies and communicate changes accordingly.
Microsoft Teams now supports apps in Private Channels, allowing bots, tabs, and message extensions with new governance controls. Rollout starts mid-January 2026. Admins and developers must update policies and apps for Private Channel compatibility, ensuring compliance with data and permission changes at the channel level.
Microsoft Purview Endpoint DLP will allow admins to add customized messages or hyperlinks in toast notifications triggered by DLP policies. This feature, requiring client version 4.18.25110+, rolls out worldwide from late December 2025 to early January 2026, helping guide users with clear instructions.
The Featured Links feature on the SharePoint Start Page will be retired from March to June 2026 due to low use. Admins will lose access, and existing links will be removed. Alternatives include global navigation links and Viva Connections Resources. Organizations should plan and communicate this change.
