Future of the Mail and Calendar apps in Windows with Outlook

Next year we will be replacing the Mail and Calendar apps in Windows with the new Outlook for Windows starting in September 2024. There are no changes for now, but your users might see a MailTip in the Mail and Calendar apps letting them know of the change.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Auditing for Microsoft Project, Planner and Microsoft To Do

To provide customers with further support to investigate incidents, suspicious activity and/or malicious changes within their organization, auditing of user and app activities for Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner and Microsoft To Do will be available in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal as well as in all tenants and regions where Project, Planner and To Do are supported. Action Required: Allow list Azure Front Door service tags

We are updating the recommendation for controlling access to Power Platform URLs and IP address ranges. Our current guidance is to configure your allow-lists using the “AzureCloud” service tag in the Azure IP Ranges and Service Tags JSON files. If you have created a customized implementation of allow-list entries, you will need to update your allow-list to avoid disruption of service.

OneNote: Stream 2.0 and unfurled experiences for OneNote

OneNote will support Stream 2.0 and provide an enhanced unfurl experience, allowing users to insert a linked video and play it directly within OneNote pages. Furthermore, users will have the ability to apply formatting options, such as resizing and changing the shape of the inserted video.

OneDrive: Configure Sync Setting to excluded specific files

This feature will allow you to configure OneDrive Sync Setting to exclude selected files and selected file types from syncing to OneDrive. When available the configuration settings will be located in the OneDrive admin center.

Microsoft Stream: Stream Mobile app for GCC-H and DoD users

The completely rebuilt Stream mobile app on iOS and Android will soon be available for GCC-H and DoD users. The rebuilt app gives you seamless access to Stream (on SharePoint) videos as well as Teams meeting recordings. The app provides an enhanced video playback experience, an improved user interface as well as core functionalities like offline downloads, video recording and uploading.

Microsoft Syntex: Admin Controls to Enable Users to Apply Prebuilt and Unstructured Document Processing Models

With this update, admins will be able to specify in what libraries end users will be able to create and apply Syntex Document Processing models. This setting will be all sites by default.
