Announcing General Availability for Storyline for Microsoft Viva Engage and Yammer

Storyline is a new way for people to share, connect, and contribute to their organization through Yammer and the Viva Engage app. Previously, the only way to share broadly through Yammer was through communities, but communities aren’t always a perfect fit for what people want to share. In some cases, there may not be a community that matches the subject the person wants to discuss. In other cases, the community’s audience may be too broad, or not broad enough.

Change Sender Name on Yammer Notifications

We are excited to rollout an update for Yammer’s interactive emails. With this rollout, the sender name information in Yammer’s interactive emails will change from “<username> on Yammer” to simply the user’s name. This update will help simplify triaging and managing email notifications from Yammer. This rollout will not change the sender email address.

We are pleased to announce that the next phase of the new Yammer experience rollout is a month away. With this change, all users will access the new Yammer experience, and the toggle for classic Yammer will be removed. Admins can still switch to the classic Yammer experience via a new toggle in the Yammer admin settings.

Retirement of Yammer IP Range

Upcoming, we will be retiring the ability to specify an IP Range from where users can access Yammer. Instead, we recommend the utilization of Azure Conditional Access Policies, which is where we will continue to invest our development resources.

Bookmarks in New Yammmer

Based on user feedback, we are bringing a bookmark feature to the new Yammer. Once rolled out to your Yammer network, users would be able to bookmark any conversation in Yammer for future reference and access & manage their bookmarks from their profile page in Yammer.

Yammer: Introducing Editing attachments on Yammer

With this feature, attachments on posts can be modified or removed after being posted. This applies to all types of attachments such as images, links and GIFs and will allow authors to correct any mistakes made with the original attachments without having to delete the thread and start over as is done today.
