Retirement of Yammer IP Range

Upcoming, we will be retiring the ability to specify an IP Range from where users can access Yammer. Instead, we recommend the utilization of Azure Conditional Access Policies, which is where we will continue to invest our development resources.

Note: You are receiving this message because IP Range was available with Yammer, and you might be using this feature.

Key points

  • Timing: We will begin retiring the above-mentioned ability to create new IP ranges beginning in early July and expect to complete in mid-July.
    • We plan to stop acknowledging the IP ranges and hide the feature from all customers by late September
  • Action: Instead of using Yammer IP Ranges, we recommend using Azure Conditional Access Policies.
  • Roll-out: tenant level

How this will affect your organization:

Administrators will no longer be able to specify an IP Range for their network when this change is implemented. Customers who have already specified an IP Range will be able to make changes and turn them off through September 30th.

After September 30th, Yammer IP Ranges will no longer be utilized, and the feature will no longer be available on the Security Settings page.
