Communication Compliance – new features coming to public preview
As announced at Ignite, we are releasing several preview updates for the Communication Compliance solution within the Microsoft 365 compliance center including Day Zero insights, a new activity summary report, and additional language support for built-in classifiers.

When this will happen:
Rollout will begin in early November and is expected to be complete by mid-December.
How this will affect your organization:
Day Zero insights:
Communication Compliance Day Zero Insights helps organizations discover trends that they may not be aware of, like harassment, threats or sharing of sensitive information. Insights for sensitive information types are surfaced automatically through the existing Compliance center’s data classification service while insights for machine learning classifiers require an organization to have already configured a policy in Communication Compliance.
Insights for both sensitive information types and machine learning classifiers are designed to help organizations holistically set up parameters for internal governance by identifying potential areas of risk and determining the type and scope of communication policies to be configured. Day Zero Insights displays the aggregate number of matches per classification type, with none of the insights containing any personally identifiable information.
Review activity summary:
This new Communication Compliance report provides a comprehensive summary of all activities and actions that have occurred against a policy, such as date sent, date flagged, reviewed by, message reconciliation, etc. By providing visibility into policy review activity, organizations will be able to easily fulfill regulatory compliance obligations and can better track the status and progress for unresolved policy violations.
Additional classifier language support:
To expand the ability to detect policy violations in communications beyond English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese, Communication Compliance built-in classifiers (threat, harassment, and profanity) now support these additional four languages: Arabic, Dutch, Korean, and Chinese Traditional.
What you need to do to prepare:
Note: By default, global administrators do not have access to Communication Compliance features. To enable permissions for Communication Compliance features, see Make Communication Compliance available in your organization.
You might want to notify appropriate users about these new capabilities and update your training and documentation as needed.
