You will now be able to encrypt Exact Data Match (EDM) data using your own Customer Managed Key (CMK), further enhancing EDM data security.

When this will happen

Rollout will begin in late March and is expected to be complete by early April 2021.

How this will affect your organization

If your organization has set up CMK (currently in public preview), your EDM data will be more secure as it will be automatically encrypted using a CMK.

EDM content that is encrypted using the CMK includes the data file schemas, rule packages, and the salts, which are used in hashing the sensitive data being protected.
