Improved copy + paste link experience in Viva Engage web/browser

Viva Engage is improving the copy link experience on its web/browser surface. When users copy a link from the “Copy Link” button conversation card, pasting the link will render a short summary of the content. No content is moved, removed, or changed with this update.

When this will happen:

Standard Release: Rollout to customers will begin in early January and expect to complete late April 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

The Copy Link feature on the conversation card in Viva Engage will render a short description of the content when pasted in an M365 app (Teams, Outlook, etc.). We have improved on the pure URL that is visible today.

This feature is only available on modern Engage web/browser experiences. Engage mobile apps, Teams or Outlook apps, SharePoint. Other non-Engage web/browser surfaces will continue to see the current URL copy + paste link experience. We are working to bring this feature to more destinations.

The change does not apply to users who copy links from the browser’s URL bar.

What you need to do to prepare:

There is no action needed to prepare for this change. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.
