We are providing Microsoft Lists and SharePoint lists owners and members with the ability to add a thousands separator to numbers.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 68716.

When this will happen

• Targeted Release (organization): mid-January through early February 2021.
• Standard Release: early February through early March 2021.

How this will affect your organization

When Lists owners and members use the Number column, they can now choose whether or not to add a thousands separator (comma) to any number larger than 999.

What you need to do to prepare

You might want to notify your users about this new capability and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
