Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management: Public preview of recommended thresholds

Coming soon to public preview, Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management will be rolling out recommended thresholds in policy wizard.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 146329

When this will happen:

Rollout will begin mid-October and is expected to be completed by mid-November 2023.

How this will affect your organization:

With this update, admins with the appropriate permissions can get tailored recommended thresholds for all the built-in indicators within the policy wizard. This feature enables organizations to fine-tune their insider risk policies and get an optimal number of alerts.

What you need to do to prepare:

No action is needed to enable these features if you have insider risk analytics enabled. Admins with the right permissions can enable insider risk analytics at Insider risk settings > Analytics.

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

You can access the Insider Risk Management solution in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.
