Microsoft Teams: Federated Group Calling

We are releasing the capability for users to easily start a group Teams call with federated colleagues outside of the organization, including video and screensharing, all over an internet connection without any PSTN usage charges.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 103042

When this will happen:

Rollout will begin in early January 2023 and is expected to be complete by mid-January 2023.

How this will affect your organization:

Users will be able to start a group call within the chat that has federated users in it.

What you need to do to prepare:

Admins will have to enable federation for the tenant to be able to allow users to collaborate outside of the tenant.
