Microsoft Teams: Meeting ID and passcode required to join on Teams Rooms on Android

For organizations with a Teams Room Pro license, the room admin will be able to configure and require a meeting ID and passcode to join a meeting from Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android to ensure higher levels of security and privacy. This means that, if you have configured the room to use this feature, the room user is required to enter the meeting ID and passcode when selecting the Join button from the Teams Room calendar.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 380747

When this will happen:

Standard Release, GCC, and GCC High: We will begin rolling out early March 2024 and expect to complete by mid-March 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

If you have configured the Teams Room to use this feature, the user is required to enter the meeting ID and passcode when selecting the Join button from the Teams Room Calendar.

What you need to do to prepare:

To configure the room, the room admin will be able to toggle on the feature under the Room Settings and require a meeting ID and passcode for all meetings in that room. This setting is configured per device.

If the room has a Teams Room Pro license, the IT admin can toggle on or off the feature under the Room Settings:
