Microsoft Teams: Redesigned app permissions tab in the Teams admin center

Microsoft Teams admins will soon be able to review and download a full list of app permission requirements in the Teams admin center on the newly redesigned Permissions tab on the App product details page.

When this will happen:

Standard Release: We will begin rolling out late February 2024 and expect to complete by late March 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

For the first time admins will have an authoritative list of app permission requirements in the admin center before granting consent to an app. On the Manage apps page, admins can select any app and choose the redesigned Permissions tab. The tab contains a structured list of all app permissions, including permission description and permission type, to help inform app consent decisions. Download the list and grant consent if desired on the Permissions tab.

What you need to do to prepare:

Consider reviewing your internal app approval processes and incorporating the Permissions tab as your new source of app permission information to save time and effort during the app review process.

No action is needed to prepare for this change. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.
