Microsoft Viva Learning: Auto Save and Draft mode for learning paths

Microsoft Viva Learning will introduce Auto-Save and Draft modes for learning paths in May 2025. These features require a Viva Learning Premium or Viva Suite license. Changes will be saved automatically, with updates to published paths saved as drafts until published. No admin action is required.

A Viva Learning Premium license or a Microsoft Viva Suite license are required to access this feature.

When this will happen:

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out mid-May 2025 and expect to complete by late May 2025.

How this will affect your organization:

After this rollout:

Changes to new, draft, or published learning paths will be automatically saved. Updates to a published learning path will be saved in a draft state (Changes in draft) until you are ready to publish:

The live version of the learning path will not change until you select Publish.

These changes will be on by default.

What you need to do to prepare:

This rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.
