Windows 365: Ability to target Conditional Access (CA) policies to a single application that applies to both the Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop apps

Currently, Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop share a common framework for identity access by using Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and security controls with CA policies. You can target CA policies to the Windows 365 app and this applies only to windows365.microsoft.com web client. To apply CA policies to the full Windows client and non-windows clients, you must assign CA policies to both the Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop apps.

Enablement of combined security information registration for Azure Active Directory

In April 2020, the combined security information registration experience for registering both multifactor authentication (MFA) and self-service password reset (SSPR) was released for you to opt in. Upcoming, we will be making the new combined security information registration experience the default for all tenants.

Note: This change will not impact you if your tenant was created after August 15th, 2020, or your tenant is located in the China region.

Loop components: Previously announced Fluid live components (MC270177 July ’21) are now called Loop components and have a new icon.

Loop components in Teams chat offer a new way to ideate, create, and make decisions together. Send a component — like a table, task list, or paragraph — where everyone in your chat can edit inline and see changes as they’re made.

MarkAsRead Volume Drop

To improve the data quality of MarkAsRead we made some changes to how reads are counted. Previously, reads were counted multiple times and with this change reads are counted when an item’s status changes from Unread to Read. This change was rolled out late last year and we apologize for not communicating about it sooner.

Retiring Hold statistics in Microsoft 365 Compliance Center Core eDiscovery and Advanced eDiscovery

We’ll be retiring the Hold statistics functionality from Core eDiscovery and Advanced eDiscovery, due to variability in the consistency of items count and size estimated from the statistics. This variability creates significant challenges for organizations who depend on consistent and repeatable results for eDiscovery legal hold workflows. Instead, we recommend the utilization of search and collection workflows within eDiscovery to get statistics on items on hold, which is where we will continue to invest our development resources.
