Microsoft Teams: Specific People Link support for Collaborative Notes

With the launch of Collaborative notes, we’re also improving the shareable link type that is created by Collaborative notes to help make meetings more effective and secure. The new Collaborative notes component will generate a Specific People Link (PSL) by default.

This link type offers more controlled access than Company Specific Link (CSL). This change also aligns with tenants who have their file-sharing policy set as Specific People. Tenants who previously had Collaborative notes disabled due to lack of PSL support can now enable and use the feature.

Microsoft Stream: Video trim feature

Microsoft Stream (on SharePoint) will soon introduce a video trimming feature which will allow users with edit permissions to trim the start, end and any parts in the middle of a video.  When you trim a video, Stream won’t change the original video file itself. Instead, it just hides the trimmed parts from your viewers.

When you’re done trimming you can toggle to the preview mode to see the trimmed video just like your viewers will see. When a video is trimmed the transcript and chapters will be adjusted automatically to reflect only what is shown in the video.

People with edit permission will be able to see full original content and edit or delete those trimmed parts. When available this feature can be accessed by opening a video in the Stream web app and taping the edit button.

Pin based verification process for support callers

Updated November 21, 2023: We have updated this message to reflect that the change impacts administrators only and not end users. Thank you for your feedback.

In 2020, we added a PIN-based verification step to our existing phone-based verification process, to better protect your organization. If you call support, the Microsoft support representative will send a verification code to your registered email or phone in your Admin Center profile. Provide this code to the support representative to grant them access to your organization’s account.

Introducing Staged Rollout feature for Graph Connectors

Staged rollout is a feature that allows you to gradually introduce Microsoft Graph connectors to a select group of users in your production environment. You can use it to deploy an existing or new connection to a limited set of users, monitor the performance, and adjust settings as needed. You can expand or shrink the scope of the rollout at any time. When you’re ready, you can end the staged rollout and deploy the connection to the entire organization (or to all applicable users).
