The sharing panel in today’s meetings is the default place for content discoverability and sharing. New sharing panel UI is crafted with intent of modernising and simplifying default tasks such as window sharing, but also for easier discovery of sharing options and more discoverable file sharing.

Endpoint Data Loss Prevention: Always-on diagnostics for Windows Endpoints (Phase 2)

Microsoft is introducing Always-on diagnostics for Windows endpoints (Phase 2) in Endpoint Data Loss Prevention, enabling admins to retrieve and selectively upload diagnostic traces via the Purview portal without user disruption. Rollout starts October 2025 (preview) and February 2026 (general availability). No immediate action required.

Microsoft Teams support for Android 8 remains, updates and fixes will no longer be provided

Microsoft Teams will stop providing updates and fixes for Android 8 devices starting December 2025, though the app will remain usable. This change rolls out from late November to December 2025. Organizations should identify affected users, communicate the change, and encourage OS upgrades or device changes.

Microsoft Viva: Copilot employee experience outcomes report with Viva Glint in the Copilot Analytics dashboard

A new Power BI report in Microsoft Viva Insights links Microsoft 365 Copilot usage with employee sentiment from Viva Glint surveys. Available late 2025, it requires licenses, admin setup, and integration between Viva Glint and Viva Insights to analyze engagement, sentiment, and improve Copilot adoption.

[Reminder] Microsoft Teams Premium Self-Service Trials (Originally announced in MC670435)

Microsoft is rolling out Microsoft Teams Premium self-service trials, allowing users to start trials managed within the organization’s tenant. Admins can control trial activation, conversion to paid subscriptions, and customize license request flows. Data handling follows Microsoft agreements, and admins can disable trials via self-service purchase controls.

Teams admin center: “What’s New” section

A new “What’s New” section in the Teams Admin Center will launch worldwide from mid-November to early December 2025. It provides admins with tenant-specific updates, new controls, resources, and Targeted Release visibility. The feature is on by default, requires no setup, and helps admins stay informed and act quickly.

Frontier Admin Control User Assignment Changes

Starting November 10, 2025, Microsoft will remove group-based assignments for Frontier Admin Control access, requiring admins to assign access to individual users only. A transition period from November 6–10 disables changes, converting existing group assignments to user-level entries. Prepare by reviewing and updating assignments accordingly.

Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Floating Copilot icon in File Previewer for OneDrive

A new Copilot icon button provides a quick, visible entry point to Copilot directly within the file previewer in OneDrive. Positioned at the bottom-right corner (instead of the command bar), this button surfaces contextual prompts tailored to the file type and offers seamless access to Copilot chat, making it easier to get insights and take action without leaving the preview experience.
