Specifying client ID and secret when creating an Azure ACS principal via AppRegNew.aspx will be removed

The option to specify client ID and secret when creating Azure ACS principals will be removed. Users must adopt the system-generated client ID and secret. This change will start in early October 2024 and end by early November 2024. No admin action is required for this automatic change. Azure ACS is retiring on April 2, 2026.

Planned Maintenance: Teams Q and A

EU-based organizations with Teams Q&A data in the US will have their data moved to EU datacenters starting late October 2024. During the migration, the Q&A feature will be read-only for about 4 hours, and users will be unable to create new Q&A-enabled meetings. Notifications will be sent to inform of the specific migration date and time.

Introducing Guest App Permission Management for SharePoint Admins

SharePoint Admins can soon manage guest app permissions using SharePoint Online Management Shell cmdlets. Updates to Get-SPOApplication and Set-SPOApplicationPermission will facilitate this. Rollout starts early October 2024 for Targeted Release, and mid-October 2024 for General Availability. Admins must download the latest SharePoint PowerShell version to prepare.

Microsoft Outlook: Drag emails into the Calendar icon in the app bar to create an event

Microsoft Outlook: “Online Archive” feature for iOS and Android

The “Online Archive” feature for Microsoft Outlook on iOS and Android will soon allow users to access archived emails directly from their folder list. This feature helps manage mailbox size by storing older emails in a separate archive mailbox. Rollouts will occur from mid-August to late October 2024. Admins must enable the “Mailbox archive” for this feature to be available to users.

Universal Print: Pull Print queues

The Universal Print feature now includes Pull Print queues, allowing admins to create virtual printer queues linked to multiple printers. This simplifies printing for users, who only need to know one printer for their location. It pairs with QR code secure release, with more options coming soon. Rollout begins October 2024, with full availability by February 2025. Admins should prepare by setting up test printers with QR code release and installing the Microsoft 365 app on mobile devices. No impact on current Universal Print usage is expected. Roadmap ID 395937.
