Microsoft Teams is updating to allow users, not admins, to export their voice and face data for enhanced privacy. This change, part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 413709, will occur from mid to late October 2024. Users can export data via Teams settings, and no admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Teams: Custom name for Teams panels

Admins can use the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal to assign a custom name to their Teams Rooms Pro or Teams Shared Device licensed panels. This new name displays on the panel’s home screen, replacing the global address book name that appears in Outlook or Teams.

Microsoft Teams: Shared call history for call delegation on Teams phone devices

Call delegators and their delegates can now view shared call history records for the shared line directly on their Teams phone devices. This enhancement promotes greater transparency and collaboration. All delegates associated with a user will be able to monitor incoming and outgoing calls for the shared line, irrespective of their participation in the call.

Microsoft Teams: Meeting organizers can turn off copying or forwarding of live captions, transcript, and recap for meetings (Premium)

We are expanding the existing ‘Turn off copying or forwarding of meeting chat’ control for meeting organizers to include live captions, transcription, and meeting recap. With this change, meeting organizers with eligible licenses will see a control called ‘Turn off copying and forwarding of meeting chat, live captions, and transcript’ in the meeting options. When this control is enabled, meeting participants won’t be able to copy the meeting chat, live captions, live transcript, or any insights generated from intelligent meeting recap.

Changes to Viva Insights metrics and default report pages for leaders

Microsoft Viva Insights is updating its metrics and report pages with a new API for better performance, affecting design and content. Windows enrollment will include quality updates during OOBE
